Go for the MP, if budget allows - it really seems like what many have already written about it: a once in a life time for a life time camera.
Indeed! I got an m6 (ttl with the middle led), and it does everything an mp does... Except that it is not an mp. And this is a problem. I'll stick with m6, money does matter at a certain level, but the mp is definitely more of an once in a lifetime camera. Especially the black.

You could try talking to Mike Bard at eplevine in Boston: eplevine.com. I wouldn't bother checking the site, just call and ask.

... likes film again.
So I had a little time to visit the "one" used camera shop, every foreigner interested in cameras and visiting Tokyo seems to know and there was ONLY ONE USED MP (BP) model for 330000JPY ... Until now every time I visited that shop they had at least a couple of used MP bodies for sale (both, original and actual) but never just one ...

Man, if only it had a center exposure confirmation light! It is beautiful.
How about an M6ttl? My memory tells me this camera had the center dot. And they're readily available.

Ah, I didn't realize that the TTL had the central LED. That is very nice to know. However, I really have my heart set on an MP and I'm afraid if I don't get one, I'll continue wanting one. It was the first Leica I ever saw.![]()
And that, my friends, is the reason to buy the MP!
Life is too short to compromise.

Thank you for checking Maddoc, I really apprecIate it! Yes Dave, I've learned my lesson. I wanted an MP, but bought an M6 classic as soon as I got the money. I LOVED the camera. It was great in every way except for the lack of exposure confirmation. In the back of my mind I always told myself, it's not an MP. So I just decided to sell and save. Now I just have to find one! Hopefully a mint BP MP. They're hard to find. It seems when I didn't have the money, I saw them on eBay ALWAYS!

You might post a WTB over at getdpiforums. Alot of Leica users over their and someone who just bought a M9 might be holding onto a MP for you!

Well, the MP's are all hiding....
Keep looking if you are set on black paint. I will look around some more.

Thanks Dave, yeah I checked out camera west. They are really friendly and helpful, just no black paints at the time. I came really close to just going with chrome, but I'm afraid if I did, I'd later regret it. I enjoy my things to show a little wear with time and I'm afraid the chrome would stay looking the same way for 50 years! Thank you for keeping an eye out for me!

Hang in their brother & remember what a wise ol fellow once said, "Patients is a virtue" & "good thing's come to those who wait" (not sure who said that but it sounds good) I know one will come your way. If I were a rich man I'd buy a Ralph Gibson limited edition MP & use the hell out of it!Thanks Dave, yeah I checked out camera west. Which one? An MP finally?

Perhaps.
I'll make a post on it when it arrives. I first want to make sure everything was as advertised, then I can breathe a sigh of relief.
