here it is with the CV 35 nokton 1.4 wide open 1/30 iso400:
just got this lens---missed the focus on the second shot a bit, but very little PP here. Sharper than I expected at 1.4
Frankly these little CVs--i have the 21 28 & 35 skopars and this lens--friigin astound me. Close focus is only .7 or so, but they murder many of my famous SLR MF lenses--well not quite, let's say they seem to at least meet and often exceed them in some shots. I'm thinking espcecially of my nikon 28 f/2 ai--the little silver CV 28 seems near as sharp or flat out sharper (couldn't be) and produces very vivid colors. Like wise the cv 21 lives little on the table to the nFD 20 f/2.8; a fine 20.

A lot of times it is hard to see, depending on the scene. Do you have some samples?

I'm off with my wife to the local Metro Musuem of Art, to do some more digital/film testing. Taking a lightweight outfit, mixing film and digital. Sony Nex-3, Leica M2 with Rapidwinder, Eastman XX film, and four Canon LTM lenses. The 19mm F3.5 FL, the 35mm F1.5, the 50mm F1.2, and the 85mm F1.5. Everything fits in a Swedish Medical Bag, which looks like a military gasmask bag, abut the same size. Plus two Nex adapters, extra XX, keys, and cellphone. I'm set
Just arrived in today's mail, a genuine Sony Nex battery, $29.95 from Hong Kong. So now I have three Sony batteries, enough to power two cameras for a while.
I really happy with my new Nex-3. In fact, I may buy a second Nex-3 body (a silver one, so I have one of each) as a backup. How's that for an endorsement?

These are really good, any idea how the CV 28 compares to the Zeiss ZM?

nice photos of your dog, and yes, very sharp! bokeh, of course is mostly subjective, and from those images is a bit less soft than some of my favorite lens, but again, it's personal preference. The in-focus part, is very nice looking.

Got my Nex 3 last week and I'm having a blast with it
All the fun of rangefinder lenses with the instant gratification of digital! I haven't done much more than play around with it, but one huge bonus is the ability to instantly test out RF lenses at camera shops. This shot was taken with an old Elmar 35mm f3.5 I found at a local camera shop.

It is fun isn't it? That is a sharp lens for sure. Very nice and I hadn't thought of that as a use for it, although I would want to see a new lens on my Leica... for the feel of it, framelines etc.

Nice light. So you are still having fun? I find it very reassuring to know that I have the choice to take out a digital or film camera but with the same lens.

As far as I am concerned, that is what makes using the Nex-3 such a hoot. And it is not any more expensive, than adding another fim body.

One more... this time with the CV 35mm f1.7 Ultron. One thing I am missing with using RF lenses on the Nex is being able to focus closer than 1m... I think I might have to look into the close focus mods for my CV 50mm and 35mm.
You can try to find a DR Summicron, which will work in the close-up range on the NEX. Yes, you have to mount the glasses, which looks realy funky by the way

OK I am shooting a rock concert tommorrow night, with the Nex-3 , and Leicas. What is cool, is that I can alternate my three "money" lenses between these three bodies; M4-2, M5 for B&W film, and the Nex-3, for digital.
35mm F1.5 Canon, 50mm F1.2 Canon, 85mm F1.5 Canon.

There are 39mm screw extention tubes around.
Ruskies made them, I have a set in the house, was going to ditch them, but I will now keep them.
