Why Use This Film

I've never used this film, but have used 400. For those that have used this film, could you please tell me why you might reach for this versus another film? I already know that the price is right.

It's smooth and not too contrasty. Manufacturer claims you can use it at ISO 100 - 800 without changing developing time and temperature. I develop it in Rodinal 1:80 for 18 minutes with gentle agitatation every few minutes. It drys super flat for easy scanning.

Interesting that you say it dries "super flat" for easy scanning as that's the one beef I've heard against Fomapan 200 is that it's super curly (at least in 120mm size.) Will have to see for myself, I suppose. Nice images! Have you ever shot it at ISO 800?

I just ordered 10 rolls of 100 in 120 which I like, and five of 200 to try out. I'll shoot it in my Fuji GA645zi which has one of the sharpest lenses in that format, and I'll soup it in Caffenol-C-M which seems to give it more of a classic film look. I'll report back on how the 200 works out. Oh, and I agree that it never seems to lose its curl, no matter how long you leave it under a pile of books. I have the Better Scanning neg holder for my Epson 4490, and this film made me get a piece of non-glare glass cut for it. Failing that, I never could get decent focus in the middle of even a 6x4.5 frame. 6x9 out of my Moskva 5 was out of the question without it.
