To me, the F6 represents tha absolute pinacle of Nikon's considerable SLR skills before they went digital. The more I read about the F6 the more I want one because I know it can do nearly everything my D700 does but without that nasty little sensor in it! 😀
Wasn't the F6 introduced after they went digital? It advanced their film cameras to the same level of advancement of their top digital cameras.
Nikon was still making them in limited batches at Sendai Nikon, but Sendai Nikon got hammered by the earthquake on the 11th (almost got hit by the tsunami too) and is still not operating. Probably won't be any new F6s, or D3s, or D700s for a little while.
Yep, and at one point, they even referred to it as "FX format" on some page. Can't find it now though.Nikon still lists the F6 at it's site amazingly
