Tom and his CV Nokton 35mm f/1.4

Tom,

Somewhere I seem to remember you writing about this lens -- here on the forum -- as your primary every day 35mm; or at least as a frequent go-to lens. I wanted to check into that again but can't find it. I'm scheduled to buy one from a fellow RFFer and want to get some reinforcement. I'm looking at a clean SC for $500. Worth it? I have a CV 35/2.5 that I love and will have to keep as it is my only LTM 35mm (except for Jupiter one that has a three foot back lens extension....).

Any thoughts from you or others appreciated.

Also check the Flickr site for the Nokton 35f1.4. It is a very good lens - I have two of them!! Has in many ways replaced my late 35f1.4 Summilux as a fast wide and is also my main lens for travel - usually on a MP 0.58. Even wide open it has a bit of a bite.
$500 sounds fair if it is in good shape (and comes with the hood). It is not particularly flare-prone - but I like the hood as a "bumper" on it. The glass in front is right out there!!!

I absolutely love that lens. I shoot almost exclusively wide open and just love the impetfect look of it: vignetting and slight distortion. It is in no way clinical or without signature. It has to be your taste. It's on my R2 constantly... well until can afford another lens that is...

Wow, this lens looks no bigger than my Summicron 35 v.2.... And after seeing it's optical qualities, I might well sell it to finance this baby.
