Clayton F76 Plus and Times on Bottles

A D76 Equivalent in liquid form I bought from Freestyle after my misadventure with Kodak D76 Powder.

I used it for the first time last night, and didn't get a clear indication from the bottle what its recommended 1:9 ratio was equivalent to. I assumed 1:1 of traditional 76, but the dev times on the bottle for T-Max 100 seemed way long. Massive Dev Chart recommended 9.5 min, bottle recommended 12.5 min. I chose the bottle... now wish I didn't. Very, very over-processed to the point where I can't get decent scans.

I've seen a few instances where recommended dev times on bottles don't jive with the Massive Dev Chart. The question is - do you just ignore that that bottle completely?

I used that developer before and I follow the recommendation on the bottle.
I forgot, it's either 1:9 or 1:7.

That thing is not *exactly* D76 in liquid form.

I've never used F76, but I have had large discrepancies with recommended times on both manufacturers data sheets and the Massive Developing Chart. I always question whether I have done something wrong: film exposure ISO, developer dilution, temperature, etc, but usually it is reproducible and so is a real difference. Whether it is the pH of the water, my thermometer or my aggitation technique, it is impossible to say. There are so many variables that I have stopped beating myself up over it, and just go with the developer times that work for me.

No I know that, the dilution they have on the bottle is 1:9. I was just unsure as to whether it was equivalent to stock or 1:1 of Kodak D76.

Digitaltruth recommends a 1:19 dilution for Tmax 100 for 12 minutes.

Clayton F76+ really has nothing to do with Kodak D76. It's certainly not equivalent to stock or 1:1 D76. F76+ is similar to Ilford DDX as a speed-enhancing, fine grain, liquid concentrate developer.

If you're scanning, try 85% of the Massive Dev Chart times as a starting point.
