I paid for a covering from Morgan Sparks at cameraleather.com back on February 24 and haven't yet received it or even had any response to my (3 or 4) polite-professional emailed inquiries as to where it might be. So now I want to send him a snail mail letter just in case he isn't getting my emails.
I know other people have recently received their orders and I was a satisfied past customer. Morgan and I exchanged several emails prior to my order to determine the correct pattern, so I know he knows of my existence... and I have my PayPal receipt plus his invoice.
And, every month, I send him yet another email asking where the order is? I haven't done anything to upset him other than to politely inquire, once a month.
Now I would like to send him a hard copy letter with the order information and a request for delivery or refund. But on his website he writes, "Just send us an email and we will provide our full mailing information." which is otherwise nowhere to be found online or in our correspondence.
It's actually gone past 90 days so I probably can't make a PayPal claim any longer. I knew it could take a long time and I am sympathetic that it is his part-time business but taking almost four months and not ever responding is poor business behavior.
Does anyone here have the mailing address for Morgan Sparks? Or better yet, if you see this Morgan, please follow through with a response, preferably with a prompt delivery.
Thank you

No address, but I'm also waiting on an order from late January. All my other orders from him have shipped very quickly, I guess I was due for a long order.

I too have been waiting for over a month and a half with no correspondence at all from Morgan. My order was for GripTac not some exotic leather so I assumed that would be a fairly painless transaction. Part time business or not, that's unacceptable in my books.

I'm in a similar situation. I ordered a kit for my autocord, and emailed to ask him prior how long it would take. He said he had one ready and would ship in a few days. I was one of the lucky ones in that manor because he had the kit I needed on hand.
The only problem is that my model didn't fit the ones he described on the front page, so the front piece was incorrect for my camera. Another small piece was also missing. It's only been a week and a half since the first email, but I've sent two emails (1 week apart) with no response. The frustrating thing is that he was very prompt when I emailed to ask about making an order, but now that I've made one, I hear nothing.
I'm not in too much of a hurry, since I've been using the camera with the parts of the kit I received, but I'd really like to know that this isn't going to take months to fix.

He took about a month for me, it was a custom order out of his cheapest leatherette. I think he's just overbooked - more than 3 months seems pretty unacceptable, but I'm sure if you paid him he will definitely get you the leather. Hopefully it's sooner rather than later.

Same here. I have been waiting for more than 90 days for a simple order (which I have ordered several times in the past, none took longer than 1 week to arrive). He replied my email recently but still no mention of the expected delivery date.

Don't know if it's still good, but I think the address I had last was 73 Church St., Burlington, VT 05401.

I can see why he might!
These threads come up every so often, so when I order from Cameraleather, I realize my stuff might come in a few days or a few months; it shows up when it shows up. It's not the best business model, I reckon, but I don't know of anyone who has not received their items—eventually.
Maybe someone ought to forward Mr. Sparks a link to this thread.

A bit off topic, but this thread got me thinking. I can take the leather kit I have and make a few cuts to make it fit. I think if I work out a paper template first, I can get it to work. Has anyone cut these? I have a composite leather kit. Will an xacto work, or can the material fray? Wondering if this is something I can try to take up myself.

A whois lookup on cameraleather.com turns up the registrar and another PO box with a telephone number. Not sure if that is the registrar or camera leather but might be worth trying although its nearly 10 years old.

I haven't had too much of a problem with paper patterns - take your time and be prepared that the first you make won't be quite right - but paper is cheap enough!
Camera covering material seems to cut pretty well with a craft tool but I often use a small pair of scissors especially to cut the curves. Again, take your time. You can always snip off a bit more but you can't put it back if you snip too much. Depending on the leather/covering a marker pen to tint in the cut edges is often needed.

Guy's,
After reading this thread about 2 hours ago, I emailed Morgan to give him a heads up. I just received a reply:
And NO, I don't have any secret email to get to him. I'm just another customer.
I've always had good service, but the few times I've ordered some exotic Leather it took quite a while to get.

Randy, Thanks for the note we are recovering from a major flood event on Lake Champlain, and I am going to make the notice more prominent on the web site ASAP.

Yeah well I imagine he had to cut mine special but it was the cheap stuff. It's just bizarre communicating with the guy.
That said, it's a good product. I'll give it a few more weeks before unleashing the Hell Hounds.

I ordered a covering for my Rolleiflex from Morgan a few years ago. He emailed a few questions asked for some pictures of the camera and then I waited.....and waited...then I waited some more.
I emailed an inquiry to Morgan, then I posted an inquiry on this site. Someone gently told me to be patient, all would be well. He was right.
When it did come it was exactly what I wanted and fit perfectly. I can't be more pleased.
Last week or so I ordered a new covering for a OM-1. I understand he is having flood issues in his area. I'll just wait it out and one day, before the second coming of Christ, I'll get the stuff and be happy. Probably.
I just wish he'd tell us what is happening.

Randy - thanks for the heads up on Morgan's problems. That said, if he had responded to my polite email asking where my OM-1 cover was (paid for some time back) I would not have lodged a Paypal dispute. Communication is the key ... Perhaps he should stop accepting orders, and people's money.

Well ... seems like my "burgundy-red" M4-P wasn`t the only problem ... I had ordered "griptack black" and never received that order but the red one ... (around two month ago ?)

I've just received an email from Morgan. He had confused my order with another person of the same name (but from the UK). Hopefully my order will be on its way very soon.

I wait for six month for my order... or no, I wait no longer.
May he be happy with my 20 bucks, there are other suppliers that will work.
