Weird problem with my S2.. slow speeds don't work at all

Your camera is in need of routine service of the slow speeds escapement clockwork module, nothing to be too worried about re. a camera marketed in 1954.

I still would send it to repair. Pete Smith is the best, it seems, but not the only game in town. You can always send it to Essex and a dozen places more before you ship it to Don Goldberg. :)

BTW, that's what I may do. Take care and glad to hear your camera came back to operational condition! :)

'Tis, indeed, a common problem for a camera of that age. I can heartily recommend Essex Camera, which overhauled my S2 last year and it works like the proverbial top now.

I should not be too difficult to work on S2 with proper tools, such as a 1mm or 1.2mm screw driver. You can search a box on google, key words "nikon repair" to get more idea.
