I enjoy other people, their minds and hearts, and what they consider that's good for photographing...
I enjoy learning, and here there are people who know A LOT... And I mean much more than about lenses and cameras and image quality: they know a lot about what's important to express visually, and what's important to do to get image quality: usually it's not about the gear when you're doing fast street shooting.
Photography and more specifically street photography. I developed a fixation with film early this year which then lead me to street photography and of course the rangefinder. I stumbled accross this forum a few months back while research rangefinders and found lots of good tips.
I came seeking info - RFF pages turned up in google searches related to the Jupiter-12, and I had to register to see the photos. Found a good community of rangefinder users, and seem to have decided to stick around.
The Philosophy Of Photography section is far more accessible than the similarly-named one on PNet (which strikes me as one of the most mind-numbing, navel-gazing bore-fests I've ever found - I never got further than half way through the first paragraph of any thread before I started internally screaming at the poster to cut the crap and go take some pictures).
For me, RFF is a good forum overall - enjoyable atmosphere, and a clear bias towards rangefinders, which means one is amongst folks with a similar interest. Good place to talk about the hobby.
I even used a fake name when I registered back 4 years ago (i.e. Tony Pio) because I had no plan on stick around very long. Now, I'm still here but stuck with everyone calling me "Tony" (fgs).

Its one of the few places you can have sensible discussions about photography online. The threads never turn into a "my choice of gear is better than yours" arguement.
