mr.zhou half case and wrist strap...soft release by tom a.

still missing adapter & hood

I also got that leather case including the wrist strap but the single knot version which is now in my Hexar AF. Nice set-up Joe, need to get a hood and thumbs up then you're complete. The thumbs-up I have is for the X1 but I think they have a new one exclusivley for X100. It really helps a lot as I keep on moving that exposure compensation buttone w/o the thumbs up.

no thumbs up i think...no real need.
i hold the strap between my middle and index finger, right up against the body...comfortable and i don't hit the dial at all.

hood is on order, both the real thing and the copy.

Hi,

Could very well be tempted to order one of those today on ebay...

How do these compare with products from Artisan and Artist if you have had the chance to compare?

I have seen they have also released a X100 case but it's hard to find one. I have their GF1 half case and the quality is remarkable.

I got the AA ACAM-272 strap for my X100 and very happy :)

Cheers,

Tom

i can find no fault with the quality of the materials used or workmanship...a&a are priced too high for my budget...

hmmm just thinking...

hmmm just thinking...

After close inspection, I see there is no quick access to the battery door. This could be a problem for me, but probably not for someone with an M8 or M9 who is used to having to take the camera apart to remove the battery:)

Seriously, the battery is also a bit lousy on the x100 so I'm not convinced this isn't style over substance a bit here.

i do not change batteries/sd cards on a normal outing so the case makes no difference to me in the regard.
and if i needed to it's a matter of seconds to do so...

It would be but too bad Fujifilm stoped half way of making classic. Where is a real rangefinder ? Why fixed lens ? Leica bribed them not to do it ?

Optical RFs are too expensive for mass-produced cameras.

The X100's lens and sensor are a matched pair. The sensor micro-lenses in different regions of the sensor have different lens designs to efficiently collect the light rays as they exit the 23 mm lens. This means the lens can be very close to the sensor. The camera can be compact, use an APS-C sensor and deliver competitive image quality.

Leica's X1 does not have an optical RF and it has a fixed lens. The X100 competes with the X1, not the M8 or M9.

Dude, that's hawt (or whatever the young people say these days instead of "hot"). My X100 is tripping on the table right now, wanting to meet yours (I don't know about the gender, but I'm assuming mine is straight).

But yeah it can be annoying when you have to remove the half case to change his/her battery every now and then, but it doesn't take that many more seconds and it's usually just once a day if I'm shooting for hours.
