Just curious. What is your favorite M mount lens and why?
Let's keep the answers to M mount lenses only...not LTM (or any other mount) with adapter.

50mm lux pre-asph, it's compact and the rendering is how i like it. The bokeh is my fave

35 Cron V.4. Perfect handling, close focus and gets used the most outa all my M-mounts.
That may change when I get a 28 Cron though.

probably my collapsible cron, but i've taken a lot of really great pictures with my 40 cron too. someone who had my collapsible before me filed off half of the infinity lock, so i can focus really easily at that almost-infinity point that infinity lock lenses make very difficult. it's small, sharp and very cool (to me). the 40 is a surprise every time i use it. it's almost irritatingly sharp and it produces very pretty bokeh. and it's really small.
honorary mention to my lovely old 50/1.5 summarit. character lens, glow and the aperture ring turns the wrong way.

Hard question but if I had to name one it would be my DR Summicron.
It does everything so well.

50 'cron v3. The 35 'lux pre-asph is nice too, but the flare is a deal breaker for me.

Cron 35 ASPH is the right size and the images I've gotten out of it are great

35 Summilux, pre-aspheric. My standard lens for 30 years or so. Why? Fast, and a 'wide standard'.

Love vintage Hifi, too!
My 5cm collapsible Summicron.
It is compact, (not only when collapsed!) fits my M3 best with the case I have and it is fantastically machined and built.
It takes great pics and it's ....oh! so sexy looking!

35 Summilux ASPH (first version) - perfect handling, weight and size for me. Rendering is fantastic.

Couldn't pick between 2 but...
50 Lux ASPH - sharpness, rendering, compact...beautiful!
75 Lux - Just a great portrait lens. It's not really an all around shooter for me, but wonderful for those tight shots!

Hey,
Hoping its going to be the 50 Lux ASPH -- I just put myself on the wait list.
Meantime, definitely the 40mm Summicron. What a delightful little lens. Small, fast, sharp from 2.8 on down, matches the 35mm frame lines quite nicely, relatively inexpensive. Heavystar makes an adapter ring so it now takes 39mm filters. What's not to love?
Cheers,
JB

The Super-Angulon 21/3.4
For it's center sharpness and it's surreal feel in shots.
