Apologies if this is posted in the wrong area as I am brand new here.

I have an Amedeo Nikon S mount to Leica M mount adapter for 50mm. I was told that this only fits 50mm but is this only for RF coupling?

If I get a 35mm F1.8 and use the same adapter on a Leica MEV-1 which has no RF mechanism would it work simply as a adapter or do I need to look for the standard Amedeo adapter that was designed for inner and outer bayonet S mount lenses? I understand the 35mm F1.8 lens doesn't fit Leica RF cameras either with this adapter because the rear mechanism is too large but again I am not using RF camera so is all that moot?

Thank you!

In addition to what @splitimageview has already said, I believe - and you'll have to correct me if I'm wrong, as I've only handled one once - the M EV1 still has the rangefinder cam follower in the lens mount to activate the automatic "punch in" in the EVF. If so, you likely still won't be able to mount the 3.5cm Nikkor, even though you don't have an rangefinder.

I will have to check with those more knowledgeable than me!

I've used the Nikkor 3.5cm f1.8 S mount lens with a standard Amedeo S to M mount adapter on different mirrorless bodies with great success. But not on any Leica M style body because of the rear element hitting the cam follower.

Find the non-Leica M style body, and an adapter to adapt a Leica M lens to that body, and you should be all set. But you will also need the standard Nikon S to Leica M Amedeo adapter, not the one specifically made for the 50mm.

That Nikkor 3.5 f1.8 lens is a beautifully rendering lens. Here it is mounted on a Nikon Z camera.
