I think I need to lie down for a moment. Who the heck do they think will buy this clunker? I hope whoever is manufacturing these had the smarts to get paid up front.

I will admit I have looked into one of these zink printer things that runs on batteries because I often am way way way out in the 18th century taking photos and I carry one of those Fuji Instax mini Cameras for "public relations". A couple instants can go a long ways to getting you into some private or unknown areas. Also its nice just to do it some times and give something back when you go romping through someones village that doesn't even have wired phone lines let alone photo printing stuff. Zink might take up less room in my bag, and would be less costly, those Instax mini film packs are not cheap.

I had a Polaroid Pogo printer.
Nah, its junk.

The paper is 20 dollars for 30 sheets.
This really might work for giving folks prints. Good PR.

Yeah but you can get zink paper that is not made by polaroid as well which is significantly cheaper. I think I saw it running about 35 bucks for 100 sheets. Those instax mini prints run around 80 cents each here and the quality sucks so how bad can it be?

Fun for kids too. They like things to be tactile. Was wondering if was to get an Instax for the girls, but might reconsider now.

My wife love the instax mini. However I hear those zink prints dont react well to you holding them because they use heat to make the images and its possible to have your fingers print into the image if you hold it wrong or something.

Heard nothing about this.
Have Polaroid run out of marketing fund?
Or are they just being super thick by not realizing that nothing will fly without a huge fanfare these days, especially those catering to novelty like this Zink.

Coming to a Walmart near you just in time for the holidays, I'm sure. Except they may decide this takes up too much shelf space for what it is.
I still can't believe they're going for the old form factor (with a carrying strap, for crying out loud!) in this day and age of cameras that disappear behind their lenses, and that's just the old-fashioned, standalone devices!
Why anybody would want to buy this rather than the Bluetooth version of the printer, to go with their cameraphone, is utterly beyond me.

Back in the game? About as much as Kodak is with their Easy Share cameras.
They still got Lady Gaga heading up the product development department, I wouldn't get my hopes up about anything they put out for a long time. They are failing at the consumer level, and non-existent at the enthusiast and above levels.
They need to pay more attention to what is happening with Kodak right now, they might learn a few things about what not to do...

Has anyone had a current Zink print in their own hands? Quality? Do they last?
A really instant print, nothing to dry or finish developing, that could be interesting.
I did have Zink prints in my hands a while ago, prototypes. The quality was fine, and I was told that temps in normal ranges would not affect the prints. The little battery powered printed looks more interesting than the camera/printer combination.

Sigh...
I mean, why couldn't they have at least packaged it to look cute....or in a few colors.
It looks like a fax machine.
