YeahI'm not sure there are any album covers with photographers posing on them.
I can think of only Lewis Carroll being on the Sgt. Pepper album cover.
Amongst many things Carroll was a photographer of some repute .

Always liked the cd, This Land, by Bill Frisell (with Don Byron). And the Walker Evans on the cover too...
Oh, and his photography inspired work, Disfarmer...

Mapplethorpe did the photography on Television's Marquee Moon.
Thank you for reminding me of a great album I haven't listened to for a long long time.

Paul's wife Linda shot and appeared on a few.
Does she count?

Apparently Winogrand shot the cover of "Jazz Goes to Junior College" (Dave Brubeck Quartet). His name can actually be read on the cover of the album: http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?release=2250767 .

How about famous photographers who appear in music videos? Eggleston makes a cameo in Cat Power's Lived in Bars--part of it was filmed at his (palatial!) Memphis home:

about thirty years after I had bought the record I was amazed to learn that Elliot Erwitt was the photographer for the cover of Led Zeppelins Physical Graffiti

they took out a floor of the building (pre photoshop) so that the image would fit the square cover

Frank also provided the photography for Tom Waits' Rain Dogs album. A natural pairing in my opinion.

Yes!How about Robert Frank's photos of the freak show performers at Times Square NYC for The Rolling Stones album Exile On Main Street.

Don't think I am famous, but they used a shot of mine for Steve Goodman's Tribute album. I used to give Steve photos when I saw him, great guy, died too young. One of the many I shot of Steve in Toronto. Maybe they will sue me for using it here, and then recall I shot it. ;-) I never noticed until I bought the album.

The cover photo on the Rain Dogs album is by Anders Petersen. ("Lily and Rose", Café Lehmitz. See also here: http://www.tomwaitslibrary.com/extras/raindogs.html .) I have the CD but only just remembered after your post.

I wrote the Eggleston piece before the Spoon album was released, so that's why it's not included in the essay.
In addition to that essay I've researched many other photo album covers and designed a few quizzes to identify them:
http://blakeandrews.blogspot.com/2010/09/quiz-22-cover-art.html
http://blakeandrews.blogspot.com/2011/09/who-is-it.html
http://blakeandrews.blogspot.com/2010/11/quiz-24-covert-art-reprise.html
I prefer album covers which use noncommissioned works. There are many famous photographers (e.g. Corbijn) who've shot many famous covers, but I don't find them as interesting as bands which use pre-existing photos.
Anyway, thanks for posting the links above which helped me discover a few I hadn't known of. When I get 15 or so new ones I'll put up a new quiz.

It's a great photo, but I would never in a million years have guessed that Winogrand took it.
