Right on time, posts are beginning to appear about the latest and greatest cameras with all the bells and whistles.

Picked up some popcorn at the local market yesterday, enough to last through Spring, I suppose. Cheap entertainment.:D

I'd pick up an extra bag or two of popcorn, if I were you Dave. The political scene in the USA may keep you busy with the popcorn when the din of bells and whistles dies down.

Hey, Happy New Year! Just Google Nikon Rumors and go from there...:)

I, for one, cannot wait for Spring to get back to shooting my documentaries. Today will be the first day this year that I step back from the computer, the television, and all the other things to get back to a routine of physical exercise whilst all this nonsense swirls around the world.

First, though, is a doctor's appointment, I think I broke my arm.:( Tired of the pain.

Agreed. And to think we have nine months of rumors and innuendos before Photokina.

The worst part, for me, are all the fan-boys who come out go the closet boasting about the latest and bestest from their favorite manufacturer. Nauseating.

Still better than the posts about the adds in the Classifieds.

You guys are late to the party. There has been steady flow of the latest greatest for years. It was only slowed by the natural disasters in Asia in 2011, but the E-P1 was just a few years ago and things have been at a full sprint. This year we will see the introduction of new Top of the Line cameras from Canon and Nikon, plus all the buzz from Fuji, Olympus, Panasonic. That all should slow down just in time for Sony to be picking up again, and maybe we will find out what kind of shape Pentax is in.

It isn't a silly season any more, it is a silly marketplace, better and better every day, at least that is what they want us to believe.

How about Leica in Fall 2012? That is when the real fanboyism vs. trollism competitions will commence.

Sony is already here with the NEX 7. Once it is in everyone's hands there will be no more need for any such threads or even the forum. ;)

You ain't seen nothin' yet, Dave.

Maybe I'll start a poll debating the merits of black vs. chrome on the new wonder cameras. Of course, then we'll discuss which bag would be perfect for the new kit. You're going to have so much entertainment, I doubt that you'll have time for a bathroom break!

Happy New Year!

Hey Dave--the "Nikon Rumors" site sez the new D4 is out in Feb--only $6K!!
Guess we'll have to order a few...
Paul
