Heh, I reckon because the corn kernels make a loud"pop" noise when heated. But, the darned things always get in between my teeth, so I stay away from it.

Right on time, posts are beginning to appear about the latest and greatest cameras with all the bells and whistles.
Picked up some popcorn at the local market yesterday, enough to last through Spring, I suppose. Cheap entertainment.
I think this must have been the pose struck by brownie enthusiasts in the 30s as the leicas and contaxes and all the folders began to appear.

Yeah, we got a new poster (10 posts) in the "Kodak Chapter 11" thread who sees no future for film at all. I wonder why he's on RFF with all of it's film users?
