My friend Joe on our way out of the camera shop and back to the car. We left the shop with my new M9 🙂. This is one of the first exposures. 40mm Nokton MC

These are from the same night, holding up strangers in Shanghai - I liked the dress of the lady, telling her so right upfront, snatching a picture, while the girl just astonished me with this open, broad smile - I had to shoot her:

All MP + 35 Lux ASPH with Tri-X400 @ 3200 in D-76 1:1

Obviously, it has been straw hat day in Shanghai that night ;-)
 
Hey Ivo, I have a local lab develop TriX in D-76 1:1 and it works well.
When developing myself, I prefer, to use stock Kodak TMax developer and base my times on the Massive Dev Chart - similar output, but slightly sharper grain.

Interestingly, I tried out three packages of test rolls with three other different labs in Shanghai and all failed :-(

Thanks, Dirk. I think I might it a go with the XTOL then I have already set up.

Ivo, I have tried XTol as well, when starting with shooting TX400, pushed to 3200.

It works, but it will do shadows a lot more flat with no real blacks, but also not more shadow detail, like it does, when pushing less far.

The worst with XTol though has been, that the grain got really blotchy and details got soft, while developing with XTol was always the most expensive option.

After having had the lab try it with two rolls, I gave up on it and just had them use D-76.
If you know XTol well and master it, you might find a better way, to use it on ISO 3200 pushing.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm by far no master of that. It is just that I try to keep things no more complicated than necessary. I interested in a workable solution for ISO 1600 and higher, and if D76 is it, than fine.

Brandon, I like those close-up flash shots! They are well exposed and tonality is nice! Confrontational, there's nothing hidden about them! Life in all it's rawness 😀

Beautiful couple

Just wanted to share a wedding shoot I did this morning for two of my friends. Shot in Capella Hotel, Sentosa in sunny Singapore.

Here's a shot of the beautiful couple. All shot with M9 and 50 Summilux ASPH.
