1st question the avatar pic is my 1952 Sunbeam S8 british very fun bike to ride it is shaft drive with an inline 500 twin, i also have a 72 Norton Commando 850. the TVR as my name comes from a 1981 280i TVR that i have. unfortunalty the company has now folded but they did make some very exciting cars to drive

2nd the scanner i am using is a Canon 9000f these are scanned at 2400 make for big files then put through Lightroom and PS i just slightly added some fill light

the fuji i used was Velvia 50 the light meter used was a weston euromaster, on the medalist the speeds are are slightly different to what we are used to on more modern film cameras 100 opposed to 125 in my case i was causing the shot to be a little more exposed

i agree i had never heard of this camera until i came to site, infact it has increased my number of cameras from 3 to 11 in 10 months something has rubbed off

A lover of Brit bikes,Kodak Medalists and from The Great White North,can life get any better?And since joining this forum I too have more cameras than my wife can find drawers to stash them in.
My first roll of Provia F (and with use my old Weston meter) left me in awe of the "bricks" capabilities!

I also like the Velvia 50 image most.

And I like the Medalist II, too.

Mine is now at a CLA job and I can't wait to get it back.

I even consider to give it a try for available light with Delta 3200 pushed to 6400. (I have still three rolls of Delta 3200 in 120 laying around since 1.5 years)

Peter, i am sure if we ran a survey a lot of similarities would show up, film cameras, cars, bikes, classic hi fi etc......and maybe middle aged? thats got me pegged, i did live in victoria for 30 years before working in Shilo, so i had lot of english cars there, also far more common than here. when i was taking these pics i did forgot what film speed i had and forgot to change the meter........when using 3 different cameras at once it really challenges you to remember each one slightly different to operate.

TVR, how is the handling with the Medalist?

the handling i find good i am used to big cameras, i also have a bronica ec tl, which reminds me of an old rollei sl66 i once had, back to the point, the medalist i really like the focusing dead simple you can see the image in one window and drop your eye below to focus, shooting verticals is harder especially to focus, i put a shoulder strap on mine but the point of balance throws the camera forward, i am going to make a half leather case, because i noticed the strap lugs are moved to the side, better balance, once i had it cleaned the focusing heliocoil moves a lot smother. the 620 aspect i left alone found the respooling in a dark bag to be snap, others may find this more of inconvenience, if nothing else it would probably draw some interest in use.....i have only put 2 rolls of film through it since i only got it a few months ago

How tough is it to re-roll 120 film onto the 620 rollers, or is there a better way to use 120??

it just takes some practice i did a few tests with a old roll of film in daylight just to see what the problems might be, when i re spool onto the 620 roll i start the leader outside the change bag to make sure it is started right. the only challenging part is when you are rolling the film back to the start where the film is unattached to the backing paper and fitting it under the spool and not creasing it, also to check every so often the tension is tight so there is no buckling when you come to the taped part of the film, when you look online there are a few examples of re spooling, i tried the nail cutters on the edge of the 120 spool to cut it down, to much fiddling, change bag is much quicker, if you want to get it converted i have read that K Ruth is the expert
