Lucky Photographer....

WTF well its an interesting form of protest in the icy cold :). I looked through some the rest of the site and it was quite interesting, loads of images of various protests.

"Femen" are Ukrainian group of protesters participating in various demonstrations, always topless. Attracts more attention that way.
Now, looks like a sensitive topic. Let's discuss the moral wrongs and rights so we can decide who's head should we break a camera over. C'mon RFF - TITS!!! Someone has to have their head broken, no?

Not a lucky photographer, just a good eye and an ability to tell a story with images.
This isn't choreographed other than the fact that the protest was obviously organized.

Hmmm... why were those luscious young models using English,
and why does it look like a Super Bowl commercial with nipples?

I suspect this is a choreographed Media Event and someone is selling something, though I'm not sure what or to whom.

This isn't what I would call grassroots.

More like modern global politics being engaged by professional marketing agencies.

Sexism is alive and well and "occupying" a section of RFF.:D

A few assumptions being made that it's a male photographer! It could just as easily be a female photographer. Imagine that! ;)

If you insist. But the photographer was a male. A friend who brought this to my attention (a female in Switzerland) Linked a video.
It's a new kind of protest method. Not the nudity but rather the professional aspect.
This looks completely contrived imo.
The question I should have asked is.. Is this PJ work or is it a staged model shoot?
Can you call it reporting if the photographer participates in the protest planning. Assuming that it is staged and the photographer is in on it.
The event they protest is real. Are they simply using the event as a prop?

Morality police please Ignore the nudity if you participate.

While my comments weren't directed at you but a general one about some of the comments belittling these women's efforts in protesting, I find you saying "morality police please ignore the nudity..." curious when your title is implying "Lucky Photographer" getting to photograph topless women. Or were you meaning lucky to be in the right place at the right time. i.e just doing their job properly. :D

Organised but I doubt "professional".

I'd say a photographer who is involved with the planning has a better understanding of his/her subject matter, doing their research if you like, and can use that knowledge to produce stronger work.

Bit of an inconsistency there!

I see now. But if you read the rest of my question you will see what I meant by lucky.
The title has nothing to do with a photographer being lucky for seeing a few nakey girls.
Rather, some of these shots seem too good to be true. Was he lucky to be there? Did the girls know him? Was he part of the action?
Look at the last one. Was he lucky or was this scripted?
It's my feeling the line between journalism and sensationalism is being crossed.
I'm curious other opinions.
