Is it just me or is KEH still having issues with their web page? I was able to view their inventory earlier in the evening, but by 10pm EDT (WED. 3/28) it was off line. I tried it again this morning & still could view inventory.
They are offering free shipping this week and I'd like to take advantage of that but no luck so far. They have to be losing major money with this problem.:(

Yep, it isn't you, it is their web site. I was salivating over an SP-2005 kit all day. Good access in the morning, and errors in the evening.

It's very unfortunate. Their internet problems have probably cost them LOTS of money, and they've been having them for what, a year or two now off and on? The current issues are different than in the past, but they're all problems that prevent me from either looking at their inventory, or making a purchase online. This is pretty darn serious, considering that they have no retail location, and I am amazed that someone hasn't gotten a handle on this by now.

I've had problems once in awhile in the last few months. I think I read somewhere (mayber here?) that KEH was the victim of a denial of service attack that crashed the site for at least a day or two. I don't know if the intermittent problems could be related to that, whether the firm is still a hacker target or what.

If they are being attacked, the problems are probably not attributable to any laxness on their part.

Probably its the DDoS attack they have been enduring in the past... Dunno why they do not invest a bit of money into an anti ddos layer of security or colocate someplace that has better routing and firewall equipment and techs...

From their blog several days back, their website's been attacked by somebody.

I just wonder who hates KEH so much that they repeatedly bring their website down?

Their site has always been slow and wonky. Parts of it are actually built wrong.

I love KEH, but whoever implemented their backend should be publicly shamed!

Thou its free shipping, but realised the price seems to increase slightly...
the last i followed a BGN bronica 150mm f4 lens is $89 but now it seems to be higher by ard $20...

I don't know why but that strikes as funny, in a sad sort of way.
It's like the grocery store I go to. They put items on sale with ads like, "buy one, get one free" but they more than make up for it by adding a little to all the other items. As they say, "you don't get nothing for free." That includes groceries & camera gear too. :D

This old guy is certainly no computer expert but sometimes it just takes time to workout the web stuff. A nice job has been done here, maybe someone could e-mail a number to KEH. At some point they will have to stop the bleeding.

So they say. But then, "we apologize for our mis-designed web site and offer all patient customers 10% off" does not sound quite as well...

My educated guess is: NOBODY. Their site has been tediously slow ever since they performed that less than beautiful redesign that left them with poor handling and no performance. Any carelessly programmed crawler (and there are hundreds of them around) will slow their database to a halt each time it walks over their site - which it will do several times a week. Given the number of these crawlers, it must be more often down than not even when not under any attack...
