UPDATE: *bay seller who sold me the pseudo XP2 refunded my money in full. Still shooting a new roll of BW400CN in my Bessa R3a to check about the possible shutter issue. Will post results at a later date.
UPDATE: Finished up shooting a roll of Kodak BW400CN in my Bessa R3a. No problems whatsoever. Conclusion: Unlikely the aberrations were due to a shutter malfunction, most likely a problem with the film.
the quality of the c-41 films are not good, since they are expired. i have been penny pinching on the expired colored films as well as xp-2 work-alike (24exp and 27 exp).
i now buy the ultrafine extreme 400 in 120 from them without problems, this is HP5+ workalike, although only for 120 format.
I have 20+ rolls of that cheap stuff in my freezer. Way more trouble than it's worth, lots of scratches. I pretty much have to get it scanned at Costco, otherwise I'll be stuck at my computer all day fixing the scratches in photoshop.
Also, great results from that Neopan. Do they still make that stuff?
