Paul, the New York Times also ran a rather chilling exposé on this topic a few weeks ago. Those images from ESPN are very disturbing.

These are important photos, and the stories wouldn't be the same without graphic, concrete images like these.

there was only one photo with the espn column. you'll have to look up the NYT story to find 'em. this fellow's photos are with the nyt story; if i understand correctly, it was the photos that launched the nyt reporting. i thought it was awfully nice to see a column in a major magazine extolling the virtues of photographers, saying that without the photos, we might never have seen the investigations take place. england was in an uproar about two horse deaths in their annual grand national ...
