Curious, did you black out the gold Lettering on the pentaprism?
It was really tacky IMO for a Top End FD SLR.

rather severe crop from a 550D+70-200/4L. I wish I knew what this tiny bird is - I've never seen one before. It lives around a coastal lagoon in Sydney

I do not recall such lettering. I never noticed. I love the multi spot metering. It is the most advanced SLR camera ever built.
