Finch in a Tree...Finely, It ain't easy when they sit for a up to 15s at best with a manual focus lens and at 300mm! (600mm fov)

rather severe crop from a 550D+70-200/4L. I wish I knew what this tiny bird is - I've never seen one before. It lives around a coastal lagoon in Sydney
Looks like a Red Eared Waxbill ,Lynn. Escaped cage birds which have gone on to colonise parts of OZ. They`re from central Africa.

one more with the Nikon 100-300mm f/5.6 AiS, then off to the repair to fix the filter ring, it had a small dent that does not allow a lens hood to screwed on it..when I bought it.
