Beautiful pictures, Rogier. I like the first one especially. It's very quick and easy to use. Mine came in its little leatherette belt case, and that's the way I carry it. The battrery seems to go on forever!

While waiting on another Sure Shot Classic 120 to arrive, I found an SS Z115 in the box, with the instructions for $2.95 today. It also comes with a big old Goodwill Safety Green "AS IS" sticker plastered on the top. Most likely won't peel off.

Rub a little hand sanitizer on the label and let it soak in for a minute or so.

That's okay if it's on the camera, but this sticker is on the box. I might try an alcohol wash, but I still figure the box isn't going to come out of this right.

If its on the box, just use a hairdryer to soften the adhesive and it will peel right off.

I am an expert at removing labels. We do a lot of direct mail where I work, and if the pieces are mislabeled, its easier to peel than reprint.

I just got one of these cameras too (£4 from a charity shop). I much prefer it to the Mju II I used to have: faster auto-focus and much less shutter lag. I was never quite sure exactly when the shutter had fired with the Mju II but the Canon is much more positive to use. Why can't digital cameras be this quick? It's got a very sharp lens and the auto-exposure is spot on 99% of the time. The only drawbacks compared to my XA is the extra bulk and the loud auto-wind, otherwise I'd probably use it instead. A real bargain.

I had exactly the same thoughts about the mju-II. I much preferred the Canon in use. Mine came in a very nice faux leather belt pouch and to me the size was much easier to handle than the Olympus. BTW, it took me quite a while to find the mju-II. I finally walked into the Goodwill store and there it was, marked $3.99, and on sale for $1.99. Came in a nice, but useless little velvet Olympus zipper pouch. I find the camera VERY fiddly. Still, for $5.00, two pretty good AF P&S cams.

I think I sold my Mju II for nearly ten times the price that I bought the Canon for! I wonder how the original RRPs compared. I assume both cameras were more or less top of their respective ranges.

Finally scored this one on Ebay without really looking for one. It came with the leatherette belt pouch and strap and seems in great condition. Just need a lithium battery and I am in business !

I like Canon's red pro band around lens. Lithium battery in mortar store will cost you triple as much as camera, right?

Were there other fixed focal length canon point and shoot worth checking out? The waterproof a1?

Canon made a few 35mm ones, most notably the M and the MC. Their Snappy line were all fixed focal length, IIRC (I can recommend the 20 and the 50, but the Q leaves something to be desired). Some of the OWL models were nothing to write home about, the one I tested overexposed a bit, which tended to bring out the lens faults. The AF35ML has an astounding (for a P&S) f1.9 lens. The AF-7 has a control dial like the Z model zooms.
I've got an A-1 and an A-6 but haven't tested them yet. Just remember you will be shooting through a plastic shield on the front that could produce flair in certain light.
