What hobby do you pair with photography?

I envy you Gary, I love to hike but its hard for me these days as my left ankle is pretty much gone.

I still manage to go fishing but not to some of the places I used to get to.

Man bummer.. . I hope the ankle not giving u a lot of pain. I am getting on in age, so there are things I can't any more but I can still hike.

Glad to hear fishing is still in there for u though.

I like to go hiking, camping, backpacking, and general outdoor things. Basketball is my main sport that I play consistently.

Used to shoot and collect guns, still have some left. I like to travel with the wife and do the most photography then. Slowed way down on collecting cameras and related items. Started to shave with a straight razor recently and seem to be collecting straights along the way too. I use them on a daily basis in rotation. Just generally really enjoying retirement.

If travel can be classed as a hobby then that is what tends to spark my creative interest more than any other way of spending time. The distance isn't a big factor - could be a trip in the UK or to the other side of teh world - it just needs to be somewhere I haven't been before.

DIY audio. Vinyl, horns, and tubes (prefer push-pull directly heated triodes).

Ditto on DIY audio, tubes and vinyl. But I also have a decent digital music collection. I also enjoy tme spent at our cabin in northern Wisconsin and I'm starting to actually like fishing.

You guys have money for anything outside of Photography? I thought this Forum was about spending every penny on getting a new Leica and than realizing you don't have enough cash left to put film in it...

Not me... I do own a user M2 and a DR Summicron but that is as far as I am prepared to go.

I do have a great many quirky cameras, most of them bought for little money. I shoot with them and enjoy it immensely. All of my gear put together would just about buy me one decent new Leica lens. And I would not have nearly as much fun with that as with the gear I have now.

And talking of VW's, one Noctilux would buy me a T2 camper in decent condition. I know which one I would rather have...
