Would anyone trade their X-Pro1 for the new XE-1?

That's a good idea, Gary.

I'm changing my method of manual zone focus...that would make it work even better. That certainly works great with 3p lenses with distance marks on the barrels, and should be fine with fuji lenses with the AE button approximating focus.

Just in case some things to think about..

CoC for ff versus APS-c is different.. Run a dof calc to double check. Also make sure your adapter allows proper inf focus, otherwise u need to stay with evf.

With some, but not all adapter, u can shim the adapter to focus correctly at inf.

Ps.. Unless other mirrorless cameras, the heavier xp1 works well here because the heavier slr lenses don't end up feeling in-balanced (front heavy)..

I didn't care for the XP1's OVF - w/ the 35mm it didn't look right (compared to the X100 and Leica/Bessa RFs) - somewhat small/distant, almost distorted.

To be real honest, I didn't realize that the XE-1 had an EVF. I haven't been paying attention to the Fuji announcements, I thought this was a LCD-only body. Upgraded EVF makes it more interesting.

Small and distant... Hummmmm.. Not sure if this could be it..

The ovf has a built in magnifier. If u hold the evf/ovf lever for more than a couple of seconds, it moves the magnifier in/out of position.. Gives u a way to decide how much of the field outside the frame line u want to c.

With the mag active, it makes the 35 frame closer to normal film rf ones. I suspect they did it this way to provide frame line room for their 14mm (non-mag mode) that was suppose to ship this quarter.

I missed it at first as well... Got bored one day and was browsing utube videos and stumbled on one about the use of this handy magnifier..

I got the X-pro1 for the OVF use it almost all of the time.
Really like it.

I am pondering an X-E1 with the kit zoom as a bicycle riding camera. Need to see how the EVF and the Zoom shake (pun intended) out.
