Owners/Former owners of the Minolta DImage Scan Multi SCSI 135/120 scanner:
What can you tell me about this antique relic scanner? The good. The bad. The ugly.
The first BAD is trying to figure out if I can install a SCSI card in my equally ancient Dell 530MP running Windows XP.
Will the Minolta software run on XP? Or will I have to bite the bullet and purchase Vuescan?
Thanks for your input.
Standing by.

I still use it with Vuescan, mostly for medium format B+W, Wayne (use a Nikon scanner for 35mm).

A nice reliable scanner. No ICE. Half the resolution for medium format than for 35mm. Nice medium format negative holder.

I have an auto-slide feeder and once used it to scan around a thousand mounted slides in batch.

Roland.

If you install the Minolta software using the code from a Muitl-II you will get double the resolution for 120 scans (same as the Multi-II).

It runs on XP no problem but you must have the newest aspi driver from Adaptecc.

The slide feeder sounds like a great attachment.

Could you clarify? IIRC, the Multi and the Multi-II have the same optical resolution (1128 ppi for medium format). Pretty sure the II only interpolates higher MF resolutions.

I'm sure it goes to 2,000+ once registered as a Multi-II.

Mine is packed away. I should install it again and run a couple of samples.
