Somehow merely saying thank you for posting seems trite. McCullin is exceptional is so many ways, and I am always interested in what he has to say.

One of my fave shooters. However, while I am pretty much a "no-flash" shooter too, I will confess that I do crop--sometimes quite a lot. While I think things look great in the viewfinder, I often find when looking at the image later, that it can be made "better" by a little snipping here and there.

So I'm a long way from Mr.Mccullen's level of expertise. But then, it's all about the journey, not the destination, isn't it?

Believe it or not, the schoolfriend who started me on photography used to babysit for Don McCullin. I gather that Don was very generous with advice, without being condescending.
