Delta 100 35mm - Why I love film

I prefer Acros to Delta 100 but its the difference between good and great only. I also like Delta 400 better than 100.

I've tried it and so far... man I'm still quite new to films and have tried about 10-15 different B&W films but I can hardly tell the difference... so far I dont like BW400CN and Agfa APX but can hardly see any other difference except slow ASA films lower grain than e.g. 400.. how do you do it? 🙂 I should add that I develop myself with Kodak D76 1:1 dilution and scan everything at around 3000-4000 dpi.

(I have recognized that rollei retro 80S has some nice tonality compared to others)

Delta 100 is my current favourite. Albany Western Australia Classic Hillclimb 2012, taken on Rollei 35RF with Planar 50/2.

I shoot Delta 100 in 2 1/4 and 35 slr and Delta 400 in the Leica. Process both in HC110
and rate at box speed. Love the fine grain and long, long grey scale.

What scanner are you using ?

Using an Epson v700 here. Sometimes I have access to a Nikon 9000ED, which is a very nice scanner.

This was taken with a Contax G2, 45/2 Planar. Developed in Ilfotec DD-X.

I shoot Delta 100 in my Rollei SL66 and the Contax N 1. Delta 400 in my Leica M4.
Process in HC110. Box speeds. The results are terrific. Long tonal range, good contrast and fine grain. I can hang 11 X 14 prints from each next to each other and they look
very fine, ideed.

I've only just gotten back into film, and have tried every 35mm B&W film that's readily available. Delta 100 in DD-X is my hands down favorite, and it will be my 'go to' going forward. It also scans great, which is a bonus as I'm not going down the darkroom printing route.

I do have to admit, though, when I'm feeling a little nostalgic, I'll load some PanF+ or FP4+ in the IIIf and shoot with my 50/3.5 Elmar. This combo ends up being a little more creamy, little less sharp, and just has a great atmosphere. Of course, I'm still in the testing phase, those are just my initial observations.
