Hi,
Recently acquired some Zeiss and Voigtlander lenses for my M9 and I have a question about 6-bit coding.
This is my understanding: 6-bit coding affects the EXIF data and only when shooting JPG it impacts in-camera processing.
In other words, if you are shooting in DNG, it doesn't affect the files coming out of the camera, and if you want, you can use the lens profiles in LR. The only thing affected is the EXIF data.
Is this correct ?
BTW, i have played around with a codeing set with markers etc on the lens mount, but it is not a satisfactory solution. Before spending $$ looking into getting new lens mounts with indents etc.
Thanks, and aplogies if covered somewhere before
