Search Verification - ABSURDLY HARD

I'm venting - I've just spent the better part of 10 minutes trying to verify my search request. Has anyone considered that those of us above a certain age - think senior citizen - have enough trouble seeing a computer screen and asking us to read a highly distorted image with little contrast as a requirement to verify a search request is exceptionally challenging.

I also dislike robots and spam, but the alternative is ridiculously challenging. If you want don't us seniors here, I get it, and I'll leave, but if you do want anyone with visual challenges to contribute to the forum you may want to reconsider the verification process for searches that is being used. I can't read the distorted script, and spending 10 minutes to verify that I can't read it is beyond my tolerance level.

Seems you got it so serious that posted into "Rangefinder Photography Discussion" not Off-topic or such. Still better than accelarating instead of braking or turning left vs right.
 
Answer number one:
Log in to the forum. That means that you enter your username and password at the top of the screen - it is also convenient to click the 'Remember Me' tickbox, as that will mean that you don't need to re-enter your account details when changing pages and so on. When logged-in there is no further verification process, although there is still a minimum time between searches - this is necessary to prevent anyone crashing the site by means of a search-script run repeatedly.

Answer number two:
If you do not wish to log in for some reason, for example perhaps you do not trust the security of the particular computer being used (a library computer or other public system of some sort), then you can use Google by entering your search term and then typing after it "site:rangefinderforum.com".
Example:
summicron site:rangefinderforum.com

The Google results will include only items from here, in RFF, where the word "summicron" is seen. Many people prefer Google to the site search system anyway, so this is a good alternative.

Answer number three:
Use the magnifier tool from your operating system. All modern operating systems have a tool which will magnify the area near the mouse cursor into a window somewhere on the screen. You may find this is useful for more than just RFF. The precise name and location of the applet depends on the operating-system of your computer.
 
What in the world? RFF is very user friendly. And that, "I am a senior" doesn't get it anymore. Either you in the game or you aren't. Age non specific. As a "senior", I am kinda tired of those excuses. Let the games begin!!

your best bet is to talk directly to stephen, the site owner. there are a few of us mods about but we have no control over the software.
as a 62 year old with progressive lenses i have not experienced the same frustrations as you...

if i'm lazy, I just type:

site:rangefinderforum.com insert whatever search term here

in my google search bar thing.

The crawlers are pretty efficient at finding things.
