Just noticed someone listed as having 100% Positive Feedback, and only a "1" listed, tho they have two feedbacks, one positive and one neutral. Is neutral truly neutral and so not taken into account when making whatever calculation the software makes?

Another feedback question...

How do we leave feedback for decidedly negative situations?

Such a feedback thread appeared here recently (buyer of Leica got an empty box in the mail, seller said "Post Office must have stolen it.") Said thread disappeared quickly. What should we do when we have a really negative situation with the Classifieds?

Well, I bring this up because I had a somewhat negative experience and left said neutral feedback, now feel like I should have made it negative. I couldn't leave feedback until this seller placed a new ad, and then was able. The ad for the piece I purchased vanished as soon as I paid, and there was no way (I could find anyhow) to get to the feedback panel with no active ad.

The camera I bought arrived fully functional, but missing a $25 eyepiece. No response from the seller to pm nor email. I ended up just buying the part, but it left a bad taste in my mouth.

So I just changed it to negative and there is now "0" feedback. Neutral truly is the same as doing nothing.

You can leave or change feedback for any user at any time, but you have to do the following:

1. Find the user's regular profile and note the 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 digit number at the end of their profile URL after "u=". In sepiareverb's case its 10537
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/member.php?u=10537

2. Find your personal classifieds feedback URL by opening the classifieds, selecting "Profile" in the top right corner, and then selecting "Feedback" at the bottom of the left side column. My personal classifieds feedback URL is the following (my number is 10433):
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost-classifieds/member.php?uid=10433&protype=9

3. Substitute the user's 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 digit number you found in step 1 in place of your number in your URL you found in step 2 (the number after "uid=") and you can access that user's feedback URL and add or change your feedback for them as required.

Or do it from inside the ad posting

I've always left feedback by going back to the ad (or any other classified by that seller) and clicking on their name in the info area. That should take you to a profile thing that lets you open Feedback and there is a pushbutton for good-bad-ugly or whatever, plus a dialog box for praise-singers to use. I always leave feedback about sellers, found only one about me (as a buyer). Given that our Club here is light-years ahead of The Bobtail Nag (or did somebody bet on the Bay?) I always try to jolly things along in lieu of buying my counterparty in the transaction a beer or some other uplifting beverage.--alfredian

I've sold at least 10 things without a hitch and I don't think I have feedback?

Since it is rather complicated and most people don`t know how to do (especially if the ad has been removed already) there is hardly any feedback except if you kindly ask the seller (buyer) to do so and explain how it works. I had maybe > 30 transactions here at RFF (according to my Paypal history) over 5 years and 11 feedback points.

This is not possible though if the seller has already deleted the ad and has no other ads listed (which is quite often the case).

To be honest I didn't know!

The ability to do this as a seller though isn't as straight forward.
Actually having done it now for a few buyers, the system is kind cumbersome.

Because of all of the above, the positive feedback points are usually very conservative. When I see like a 5 or 6 point rating I always assume there were probably many more members that didn't post a rating.

Another nuance of the system is that if you have two or more transactions with the same member your current feedback simply replaces your earlier feedback. I find this annoying since repeat good feedback is pretty important.

Annoying indeed. I just received a second item from the same seller and wanted to leave a second positive feedback, not possible unfortunately.
