Leica 35 f1.4 ver 1 Lens Cap

Read from another forum on SK Grimes lens caps and thinking of ordering a couple for my lens. I read from Ken Rockwell the size is 46.5mm ID. Could someone in this forum with the original Leica push on cap for this lens confirm the exact dimensions (ID, OD and depth). Thanks.

This cap is very very rare. Quite strange for such a beautiful lens the cap is black plastic. I've been looking for one for years. Finally I found one on eBay. Indeed, it is 46,5 mm.

Congrad. It is good to have a complete set. Although the Summarit cap fits, it is not the same. I rather have a third party (without the Leica logo because it is not a Leica) cap that fits over the body as the original. Can you tell me the OD and depth of the cap? BTW is the part number 14078 and is it indicated on the cap?

The height of the cap is 10mm (on the outside). OD seems to be 50mm. On the inside there is a kind of "step" to fit the lens exactly. There is a knurled ridge on the upper outside of 3mm thick. I do not have an instrument to measure the inside diameters. There are no markings on the cap except "Leica". Part number is 14078.

He quoted USD 60 for (2) 46.5ID x 5mm deep cap (my estimate on cap size before Eric's input). Erik's input on 10mm outside length would cost slightly more I guess.

Sorry I used Eric instead of Erik earlier in the thread. Is it possible to post some photos? If not, is the step inside the cap step up (inside diameter is larger at the front of the cap) or step down to 46.5mm?
