There appear to be some very good deals on Zeiss Ikon ZM on this website. I am tempted.

However in view of the saying 'if something appears too be too good too be true it probably is' has anyone had dealings with this retailer?

(of course the title should read Vienna!)

I've even ordered from them from the US. When the X1 first started shipping, they had them in stock before anyone in the US. Additionally, it ended up being cheaper even after shipping. They even called me internationally to talk to me about the order. Very good service I would say.

Yep, I shop there often and spent a small fortune over the years. Very reliable shop, they even offer 6 months warranty on most used items.

Sorry to disturb this apology, but I often try to ask Leicashop about a camera I'm interested in.
Their replies are short as can be and they never answer half the points you ask them about.
They are much more concentrated on cosmetics than on working condition of a camera.
Most of the time, they just repeat what's written on their site (a very few words) and I am convinced that they don't go and take the item in hands to complete the description.

I have bought several lenses from them in the past.
One came without front cap (the cap was mentioned in the description), two others had sticky aperture blades...
They take two days to check the item before shipping, but the check is not good.

To conclude, they do have a large choice but I think that they're not doing their best in long distance deals.
They are probably better when you can go directly to the shop and discuss with them and see the products.

Bought a lot of second hand stuff from them - even direkt from the website without touching the product.
Never ever had any problem - best dealer I know and the home of westlicht auction!

They predominantly cater to a collector audience, at least when you ask about anything older than a M6. And when it comes to collectible cameras, repair or even lubrication will actually destroy part of the value of a untouched but gummed up (or otherwise frozen through age) camera.

I like them, I bought a Zeiss ZI camera from them in November. Great shop with a huge variety of items. The only thing that made me less happy was the time that they take to dispatch the camera, I have waited about two weeks for received it.

I've never bought used from them, but bought a Zeiss Ikon SW with a Voigtländer 25mm f/4 (which is for sale now in the classifieds!😀). Friendly people, good service.

I've bought from the shop and sold via their auctions. All transactions fine and goods as described. No problems at all.

When it comes to selling the auctions have a huge audience, OK so it costs a bit to ship stuff to Vienna but the prices realised are generally higher than elsewhere.

Perhaps they're selling out their stock because production of ZMs has been discontinued.

Though personally I considered the announcement as a motive to buy one – the chrome one, which was discontinued first and looks so retro.

OK, those replies are encouraging......

Mine won't be, and I wouldn't touch them again with a proverbial barge pole.

They sent me a lens whose age, and generation, had been significantly wrongly described, was sold as 'like new', but was so filthy I had to clean both lens elements to ascertain the lens' internal condition, and whose chronic veiling haze made the lens unusable.

I returned the lens for them to pass on to another gullible sucker, and I lost money from exchange rate hits which they refused to reimburse me for. despite their ignorant, or wilful, mis-description of the lens.

I could not be less impressed from my dealings with them. Be cautious!
