Hi,
I used to actively use several Rollei 35mm cameras with QBM lenses, such as the Zeiss Distagon 35/1.4, Planar 50/1.4, and Planer 85/1.4. These lenses are stellar in performance, but the 35mm SLR bodies were poorly made in Singapore, and it was a dying system. I am glad that I hang on to the lenses, as they can now be used with digital M 4/3 cameras (or NEX), and they perform beautifully. My 85/1.4 cannot be repaired, so I use it wide open at 1.4. It can be a problem on sunny days since the slowest ISO is 100, and the aperture of 1.4. is to wide. I would have to use a ND filter, which I need to find among my SLR gear on day.
I just bought a Sonnar 85/2.8. Does anyone here have experience with this lens?

Well-known
The 2000f and 3003 bodies were pretty good and ahead of their time. I had one for a short time and it was quirky, but very good. Here's some info on this site: http://www.cameraquest.com/rol3003.htm
I think that they are fairly rare and expensive these days still. I finally went with the Contax RTS, RTS II, and III and lenses and still have the III.
HTH,
Joel

I have two 2000f and one 3003 and two are dead and not repairable. One 2000f died when under warranty and was repaired by Marflex back in the day, but they were always trouble and age does nothing to improve electronics. Something I would avoid

I had same problem with a mint SL2000F. It was sent to Germany for repair, but even with a new motherboard, it died a few months later. The electronics are a mess. Rollei went nearly bankrupt after offering the SL2000 and the SL3000. The latter being better.

When a camera system is dying, so will threads about it!
The lenses are amazingly good, and they can be bought these days for rather low prices. Then you can get an adapter for NEX or M 4/3.

Thanks for showing me the 3003, what an awesome camera
Actually I had a big Contax SLR system and the lenses where amazing, similar to the QBM variants I think.

I bought this week a Carl Zeiss 85/2.8 Sonnar in QBM mount. It is rather small in size.I wonder how it differs from the Sonnar 90/2.8 fir the Contax G, other than maybe in the multi-coating.
