Very nice. Anyone here snag it?

It is sold.
I did not buy it. That's why I posted it here. The 28/3.5 is a sharp lens, and some claim that it is sharper than the 28/2.8 that Winogrand used in his work.

Almost had the chance to buy a Canon 28 f/3.5 with finder for $35 a few years back because the guy behind the counter didn't know what it was. Still kicking myself for that!

I owned this lens and loved it. Nice and compact. I liked the retro look and low contrast. Plenty sharp, but the corners can be a bit soft wide open. Loved the 1950's build quality and that the distance scale was in feet only.

Tought about it for a minute but have spent to much in the last month already.
Someone did snap it though!

I owned this lens and hated it. Loved the size, but I found the acutance and sharpness to be quite poor. Mushy to say the least. Could have been my copy.

I sold my Canon lens after I got a Kobalux 28/3.5. I love this lens.

I already have the Canon 28f2.8 and a later black barreled Canon 28f3.5 which was previously owned by a couple of famous photographers on RFF.
I did once own a chrome 28f3.5 and loved it, but traded for a googled Summaron f2.8 with Mike the knife on rff, which became redundant when I traded a Leica MDa for a non-goggled Summaron f2.8 with Steward on RFF.

Keith,
I think you might of had a bad copy. Mine made very detailed negatives, but know that wide open the corners were not like a modern lens.
When I owned this lens I used it a lot, it cannot compare to my 28 Cron, but then nothing really does.

I'm finally using a chrome version since a few months now, and I got a great sample from another RFF member via ebay. After cleaning it, the lens now performs admirably. Noticeably higher center resolution than the different color skopar samples that I have used, with slightly lower contrast. And very rectilinear, great for landscapes or architecture.

Quick question - in the 35mm focal length, which lens most closely resembles the "look" of images from the Canon 28/3.5?

I have a Nikkor 35/2.5 that is very, very similar, Kxl. I would assume other 6 element Gauss period correct designs behave like that, too, for example the Summaron, or the Canon 35/2.8.

I own a 35/2.8 Summaron and agree with Roland. Difference of course is the 28mm FOV. I used my 28/3.5 on a Leica IIIG. The 28mm Canon VF'er also was very nice.

The Canon viewfinders are excellent. A great value compared to cv models.
I replaced my 28/3.5 with a cv 25/4
I can't say I miss it, but it sure was a performer on a budget.
I still have my 35/3.2 Serenar and would never think to replace it.
It is nice that these finders have parallax adjustment.
Sh*t, my 24mm Leica finder doesn't even have parallax correction, and it cost me as much as the Serenar lens with vf.

I bought this lens. Thanks for the HU, Raid. It was pure chance I was on the forum. Sitting in the apartment waiting for a furniture delivery. The lens doesn't appear to have the finder with it (and I wouldn't expect it to at the price) so I will have to sort something out on that front. I have a Tewe finder and 28 adapter lens back in the UK, but it is yet another photography item I left in storage that I mistakenly thought I wouldn't need in the short term in the US.
