This looks like a gash in the cutout. The Gap pointed out previously- marked it as well.

This is my C-Sonnar.



Only one way to know for sure- buy it and inspect it.
My normal approach to Ebay: buy it like it is for parts.

"Mint" or Equal doesn't mean jack anymore w/ Japanese sellers. Buyers beware.

When Japan started posting regularly on eBay about fifteen years ago or so, some US eBay dealers and sellers of photo gear immediately took note as they were serious competition with lots of in-demand high-end gear. At first we thought it was short-term based on favorable exchange rates, but over the years their listing count has grown exponentially despite ups and downs with the dollar/yen.

But their descriptions used today are nothing new. Fellow dealers I did a lot of business with back then would joke about their listings using such phrases as ‘mint with fungus.’

Buyer Beware applies regardless of origin, but the Japanese are quite unique with their descriptions. 🙂
