Leica R lens to ltm camera adapter, does such a thing exist? There lurks a SA 21mm R in my cupboard gathering dust, it could be an interesting scale focus/point/guess and shoot kind of project...

I could only find an R-to-M adapter with a quick google search.
I fear you'll have to find some other combination of adapters to make it work.

[edit]Doesn't look like there's anything out there, even with an intermediate step. There are very few XXXX-to-LTM adapter to begin with.

Yes I have an R to M adapter which I use with a M to Nex adapter for the old Nex 6

In the back of my mind I think I remember some adapters for the late versions of the Leicina but think that was only to M. I can't find a solution with Novoflex who have or had a solution for more or less everything.

This is interesting. Of course it would only be useful on lenses that are short enough to scale focus and...where a viewfinder is unnecessary. The R lenses are not small.

I've used the 21SA R on an M camera before just for fun. R to M adapters are available.

I used the 21 R lens with the M-R adapter many, many years ago. Nice lens but very large on the M body. It would be gigantic on a LTM body.

R is indeed mad on an M and would be madder still on an LTM but that R lens is sitting in the cupboard doing nothing and it must be the cheapest of all Super Angulons.

Maybe DAG could adapt the lens to LTM mount. It wouldn't require modifying the lens itself, just removal of the bayonet and replacement with a custom (or scrounged) screw-mount ring. I would really check with Don; it seems to be good idea.

Using a Pentax M42 on Leica screwmounts right now - still in the testing phase - gotta watch that lens to film plane distance but I think it is dialed in now - will have pictures soon. But yes those SLR lenses look giant on those little bodies! I'm shooting a 24mm lens and brightline finder I found- obviously scale focus only!

That would be a nice combo. If necessary, an extra finder can be added.
No rangefinder coupling, of course. But with such a short focal, it's not a problem.
