Fortunately, if you prefer smaller DNG file sizes, you can stick with one of Leica's older cameras with a lower resolution sensor. No need to upgrade to the latest body. Apparently, that will also solve the problem of visible camera motion and focus errors, so it is a win-win.

Choices are good.... you don't have to shoot it at 60.... you can lower the res.... Honestly who needs 60 mpx, not many that a small fraction of folks.... 18-24mpx is more that plenty for 90% of people no matter the camera maker... Focusing errors expose bad technique.... leica's have been exposing bad technique for decades now just more magnified... If technique isn't your cup of tea all good, its all that matters at the end of the day is the image.... if its a little soft but its a great image who cares? Some of HCB's best images aren't pinpoint sharp...

A little extra DR.... now if it was 16 bit DNG you could argue is a pretty good difference.

Recalculating useless MPs to normal MPs via external computing is "too much monkey business".
And...
We were told in this thread what HCB, VM (her 6x6 ain't sharp, either) are now became garbage for galleries and museums which now wants it in 60MP or it ain't good.

To me it sounds totally ignorant.
Old cameras have no support.
Smart manufacturers up to date cameras have in camera selection of RAW size.
But as not blind horsed of us know, LCAG is not in this category.

I wonder if the new evf will be compatible to the typ113 and TL/2 since itll be backward compatible with the M10?

Really? Who said that? They made art with the tools of their time. Of course 60mp isn't needed to show in a gallery or museum, but it sure helps if they decide they want to print large. I mean, at 300dpi, we are talking about a 20x30" print. Large, but not ridiculously large at all by today's standards.
We all know large MPs bother you. It's ok, but the trend towards bigger and bigger MPs isn't stopping. That said, there's nothing wrong with your suggestion of multiple RAW sizes.

What support do you need?? lol the M9 hasn't had "support in a decade works just fine actually Leica supported that camera much longer Nikon or Canon would ever support there cameras with the sensor issue and replacements.... DNGs can get opened in a version of photoshop from 2000 if you wanted all the way up to present day... The camera companies bottom line want you to keep upgrading this is an industry problem not a Leica problem.

Its not about innovation, that's fine and welcome... but the marketing is horrible... basically buy this new camera with all these new features will make your pictures better! That's the problem. There are a lot of suckers out there, its funny and sad watching people falling time and time again to the marketing....

Cameras are no different than any other products. Manufacturers makes changes, claim they are improvements whether they are or not, and then try to talk you in to buying them. It is easy to avoid the marketing. Don't read the reviews or watch the influencers flogging new cameras on YouTube. Skip threads like this one. It is completely within your control. It's not like the camera manufacturers are advertising on TV, and you have to mute them every five minutes when you are watching the news.

So is anyone excited by this upcoming camera? As someone still happy with the M9, I'm willing to wait for a decently priced M10 or SL2-S to come along, but the M11 has a lot of little features which move it subtly away from the traditional digital M we've had for 11 or 12 years. Will be interesting to see user reports, not to mention Jono Slack's usual introductory article.

I don`t have any large Mp camera at the moment but the advantage for many that do have them is that they save you carrying heavy larger lenses around.
You can travel light and still "get there" if you have to with a crop.
Nothing to do with prints or being"lazy" but everything to do with saving weight and carrying extra gear .
Not that it would necessarily be pertinent to a rangefinder system of course .
I was making a wider point .
