50mm 1.1 Lenses: CV and 7Artisans with Leica M10

I'm hoping more likely there will be big improvements to the 50 f1.0 from the F1.1 and F1.2. if it's all as good as we hope itll be then I expect to see a lot F1.1 & 1.2 being sold off

Why is the wall on the background very dark with the 7Art and light with the CV?

The light is changing rapidly with passing clouds. This is not a controlled experiment, just a comparison.

The 7Artisans is a 50mm F1.1 SONNAR formula lens that costs less than a vintage Canon 50/1.5 and Nikkor 5cm F1.4. If you are a Sonnar fan, like me, it is worth having. You must calibrate it to your camera, and most likely need a magnifier for precise focus on either of these lenses.

Not Mine, Neither one! The 50/1.0 is already paid-in-full. The Nokton 50/1.1 is very similar to the 50/1.0 Noctilux- except 1/10th the price. The 50/1.2 Nokton is very sharp, renders beautifully, and focuses to 0.7m. It's about the same size and weight as a Nikkor 50/1.2 Ais.

This is the 7Art at F1.5, Yellow filter, on the M Monochrom.



Softness due to CA is greatly reduced used with a Yellow filter and a Monochrom camera, any film shooters will get the same benefit.

Lots of Spherical Aberration, Lots of Coma, and Chromatic Aberration. That's what you get when stretching a Sonnar design the F1.1. Crazy thing to do, but somebody had to do it and must love Sonnars as much as I do and have the resources to implement it! This is a Zunow 5cm F1.1 v2, which sold for the same amount of money over 60 years ago!

Chromatic Aberration adds to the softness of the image. Using a medium Yellow eliminates most of the softness due to CA. With some colors- the CA can be bizarre.

Would a conversion to B&W and "filters" with some software also help with CA in color images or must it be a Monochrom and not a M9 (or M10?)?
