I’m new to RFF. I like the user interface but since I never used the old one, I can’t compare them. A general question about RFF: What happened to the Nikon Historical Society Web site? If I put in the URL for it, I wind up on some Thai gambling (?) site. Was the domain name hijacked?
You can try the Wayback machine to look at old posts on the old RFF is that helps:

That's not an RFF problem (well... not per se), but a browser one.
The auto-fill is stored in your browser and RFF will only get the information when you choose one of the entries and send it to the servers by pressing enter/clicking OK/whatever. As such, nothing is being sold, or not secure. No worries there.
The bigger question is what's going on at the RFF or browser level that means the auto-fill information from two totally different sites are both being called up in the same place. If the other site also runs on vBulletin, my first guess would be that your browser can't distinguish between them for some reason. If the other site is something totally different, your browser's doing something totally screwy, and RFF is totally off the hook.
As far as I know neither of the other sites run on vBulletin. I post in other forums that do something similar, but at least when you type in the proper Username it remembers it, unlike what happens here. So, is it really a browser issue, or is the RFF software incapable of handling more than two usernames? I just checked Firefox, and can't find anything that pertains to Username retention, only Passwords.

Funny thing with the Notifications today. I had 5, two of which were in the proper format, and the other three were in the buggy "Invalid Page URL" (or IPU for short) format. But the screwy thing about them is they were mixed time periods, as in order they were IPU, IPU, a "Like", IPU, and a "Reply". I was able to track down two of the IPU notifications, but not the latest one. I'll keep trying though.

Found it. Had to look at the timeline to see when it was posted which was "5 Hours Ago", then looked through the "Today's Posts" to match it up with something in that time frame. Twas an old thread I started four years ago.

It's definitely a browser issue; anything involving auto-fill is controlled by the browser, not anything server-side. The only thing that leaves me scratching my head is why Firefox is pulling the username from two different places, as browsers usually use the URL of the active page to store and acknowledge which auto-fill username should be displayed where.

The Notifications command is still broken. It brings up a useless page of broken links.

Well, after it being suggested that I change my browser settings, Firefox now crashes every time I close it and I have to do a refresh to get my Bookmarks back. Of course, I also have to reset all my Password protected sites. In the middle of all this Firefox updated, but it still crashed again. I'm pretty sure I got all the setting back where they should be, but there is no Save button when you do make a change, so I don't know. I do know I have to reset my Search Engine preference when these crashes happen as the Refresh sets everything back to the defaults.
It's getting very tiresome, just like this RFF update that continually needs repair.

its probably something to do with the computer you are using.
Can you try RFF on another computer?

I don't own another computer. I will try it in another browser, as much as I hate to.

Okay, I opened up MS Edge, and while I don't see the other Usernames in the Log-in, it also does not remember my Username for RFF. Could you quote this post, Stephen, so I can see how the Notifications work? Thanks.

George is working on the notification problems,
but I don't think he has it working yet.

Okay, thanks, Stephen. I think I will have to give up on Firefox as it continues to crash every chance it gets. Don't know how I'll get all my Bookmarks out of it into Edge, but I'll give it a try.

The notifications prob is a software update problem which is being worked on in the back ground to resolve.
Hopefully it will be fixed this week.

Well, there's your problem. Hah.
In case it wasn't semi-obvious, I've worked in web design & e-commerce for almost a decade. I've bounced through almost every browser over that time, from the obvious ones (Firefox, Chrome, Safari) to the niche (Opera, Vivaldi) to the truly obscure (Sleipnir, Stainless). And honestly, out of all of those... I wouldn't wish Edge on my worst enemy.
Give Vivaldi a try. It's functionally Chrome but without the Google bloat and security concerns. It'll almost certainly run better than Firefox does. Defaulting to Edge is probably going to give you more headaches in the long run.

Edge is not my first choice for a browser, but it will have to do for now until I can get my Bookmarks from Firefox integrated into the Edge list. Then I can do some more research into other browsers. I've shut a lot of stuff off on the Edge Home page so it's a fairly clean runner for now. Installed Adblock, and have Webroot to keep an eye on things. Still can't figure out what went so wrong with Firefox, but it never quit crashing no matter what sequence I followed to fix it. Could be this computer is just getting too old to handle updated software. I really need to start buying less camera gear, and more computer gear.

Dumped Firefox for good tonight after importing all my bookmarks into Edge. Kind of sad to see it go. Now I have to check out that Vivaldi, which Coldkennels is raving about. Can't be all that bad with such a nice Italian name.

I had to, Stephen. No matter what I tried it just kept crashing, even when I reinstalled the software. I figure as old as my system is they probably made some change that made it impossible to run on my system. Either that, or I really screwed things up trying to reduce the cookies in the system.

Total agreement with you there. Now if I hadn't spent so much on camera gear, I could afford a new computer. :bang:
