How hard is it to fix something like this? It doesn't seem to screw on, its attached internally. It seems structurally sound, though, should I even worry about it?

I've been inside OM1's before, but an OM1 is not a Spotmatic. Anyone have experience with how difficult it may be to open it up?
Thanks.

It's not hard, the main thing is not to slip and hack up the pin face screw in the middle of the shutter speed dial, use a decently proper tool not some kludge. I use a little needle nose pliers with the tips shaped into two little cylinders. Still kind of a kludge. The screws on the sides of the dial stay put. The screw that holds on the wind crank may be reverse thread, can't remember.

These would be helpful, though you might have to refine the tips a little. I have some but haven't used them for anything yet.

Many thanks to Kim Coxon.

Reviving this thread with a question - how easily accessible are the strap lugs screws once the top is off? Does it require any further disassembling to tighten them?

The Spotmatic strap lugs are locked in place by screws from the top. These are readily accessible from above with the top plate off.

Just for the sake of having it somewhere recorded , here are two pictures showing the screws that secure the strap lugs. Easily accessible once the top is off...
