OK,at the 10 min break during today's hearings,a photographer in the press pool is shooting the witnesses with a Crown Graphic 4x5 sheet film camera!!! Who does that and WHO is he? Any guesses.

David Burnett uses 4x5 but the photographer looks younger! A hero in age of all auto image making at 90 FPS ! Slow, deliberate and I guess AWESOME!

That's Frank Thorp of NBC. He's a great journalist and large format (and other formats) photographer. He was in the Senate during January 6 coup attempt, and took valuable video footage. And a really nice guy to boot!

Thanks, just so interesting that anyone in photojournalism would still be using a 4x5. I did own at one time a 4x5 speed graphic and a 2-1/4 x3-1/4 with rollback and sheet film holders.

He described to me once the details of how another photojournalist (retiring?) showed him the ropes and sold him some wonderful equipment. I believe he processes film at Smithsonian darkroom. He was recently interviewed on the Large Format Photography Podcast.
