Sneaky (cat!)

Well, he appears to be asleep... Our kitty can look equally dead to the world, but the moment a can opener punctures a can at the other end of the house, she's instantly there at my side and wide awake. It's become a huge source of amusement in our household!
I think that Sneaky is only pretending to be asleep while he's actually guarding your camera bag.

Sneaky has built-in alarms to tell him that a human slave has walked into the kitchen or the bathroom. He then runs to the kitchen to demand food or to the bathroom to watch people use the toilet.

Yeah, just what is it about cats watching humans use the toilet? Is it that whole fascination with running water, or just another inexplicably bizarre cat behavior?

Sneaky loves to watch. If I am peeing, he'll sit on the back of the toilet and stare down at me as the pee is flowing. It fascinates him. If I am pooping, he'll use the opportunity to pull open drawers on the bathroom cabinet and snoop in them.

Last night, I put some catnip in an empty Pepsi box and Sneaky went crazy. He went crazy attacking imaginary things outside the box; then when the high wore off, he came out and DEMANDED more!

About 20 minutes after eating his breakfast, Sneaky began demanding MORE food and crying hunger, starvation, famine, and animal abuse. I told him he needed to wait, and he made a show of getting in the sink and licking old food off the dirty dishes to demonstrate his DESPERATE hunger!

Yesterday, I was feeling tired so I took a nap while the bed's sheets were in the washer. Sneaky came in and rubbed my face, then walked down by my feet and stretched out to sleep next to my legs. When I woke up, he was still there, so I snapped this photo of him.

Yesterday afternoon, Sneaky was up on his cat tree looking out the window to be sure none of his enemies (every cat who dares set food in Sneaky's yard) were walking through the yard or (worse) spraying any of Sneaky's bushes! When I got the camera out to photograph him, he turned away from the window to stare at me.

It’s a good thing you’ve photographed him from below, thereby showing him in an exalted position.

I can imagine there are some regimes where bad things happen to the State Photographer for a less than flattering photo.

Indeed. Your bed becomes the Designated Litterbox.

Fortunately, Sneaky is not as spiteful as some cats. My family used to have a cat who would pee in people's shoes while they slept if they refused his constant demands for food earlier in the day. Sometimes, he would also take out his frustration on the dog; he'd walk over to the dog and attack her after being told 'no.'

Sneaky lying on my son's desk chair a couple nights ago, giving me a dirty look. A couple minutes earlier, I sat down on him on MY chair, not realizing he was there. I got up and sat on the edge of the chair in front of him, and he got annoyed and jumped down to go to Mack's chair instead. Mack was already in bed, so he could have the chair as long as he wanted.

Yesterday, we had steaks for dinner, and Sneaky got his share. Before he had even eaten all of his steak, Sneaky came out into the dining room and started eating a baked potato that my son had left on his plate!

That looks good. I’m getting hungry. My thought is that Sneaky likes the butter on the potato. If Sneaky would eat the buttered skins, that would be amazing.
