Estancia, NM

I was tickled to see that Vince Lupo shot this same statue for his "Mapping the West" project. Sadly, sometime during the pandemic, the statue was removed and replaced by a large wooden cross. The local market whose property it was on has closed; now residents must travel about 20 miles for any groceries. Estancia is like many small NM towns, barely hanging on and quite poor.
