The summer after graduating from college I had a job driving a taxi (true). Sooo big inside. The car had 450,000 miles on it, I was the new guy, I think the odometer went to six digits. A couple times when I took my foot off the accelerator pedal the pedal did not rise. The rpms remained in the thousands. Scary. Required putting my foot under the accelerator pedal and lifting the pedal with my foot. Not fun while in traffic.

I'm glad I satisfied that long itch to own one, but very glad to have sold it. It was definitely a money-pit. Had I put half the money into the '63 Falcon that I owned prior to the Checker, I would have been much better off.
