I did a search and didn’t find anything specifically related to places you might stay. Post your photos of unusual and old motel or hotel signs, campground related or places of residence. Unusual designs, old and colorful are particularly interesting.

Let’s see what you got!

This is a place we’ve stayed at a few times, and I’ve stayed there about a half-dozen times on my own. My friend Shelly has an off-grid place not too far from Madrid, New Mexico, and her property had a number of school buses that had been adapted to little AirBnB’s. I was the first ‘test pilot’ of sorts for her venture years ago and I was recently her last (a few weeks ago), and this little old Dodge bus was my accommodation of choice when I’d visit. Unfortunately she’s not operating an AirBnB any more and the buses are mostly gone, but her place is still magical. Can’t wait to be back.

Great image and story!

Sorry to hear about friends venture failing.

Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit

We stayed two nights and had dinner on the 29th floor in the evening. Beautiful night-lit views of Bangkok.

The Hotel Continental in Saigon is the first of the Grandes Hotels built during the French colonial period. This is where Graham Greene sipped his whiskey with water and wrote the first pages of The Quiet American.

Daytona Beach Florida - The old "Shangri La" motel, looking straight out of the 1950's is not beach side but mainland on US#1 which was replaced as a north-south tourist route by the interstate many many decades ago. This was made in 2012 when I had bought a digital camera and began trying to learn how effectively shoot color after so long working in b&w. It never fit into anything I was doing but maybe someday .....

Nice!

I had to use digital color for over twenty years in my work but resisted for personal work. I love film but lately since quality E6 processing is hard to find and film is out of sight I’ve started shooting digital color and honestly I’m beginning to love it.

I had to put my work Nikons away for a while and bought a Fuji X-T3 and a few lenses and really warmed up to it. I like my Nikons a lot but associate them with work. That’ll pass though and they’ll come out of the safe and be a part of the fun now.

Meanwhile I’m loving my Fuji.

The Rex Hotel, downtown Saigon. During the 'American War', the seat of the Military Assistance Command Vietnam (MACV). The international press corps dubbed their upbeat daily press conferences the "Five O'Clock Follies

Very interesting to see this.

The rooftop bar -the Saigon Saigon Bar, of the Caravelle Hotel, downtown Saigon. During the war, a meeting place for foreign correspondents. The Embassies of Australia and New Zealand, and CBS and NBC had their offices inside the hotel. I'm planning to revisit the bar one of these days but it has been too hot and humid. Cheers, OtL

x-ray, when revisiting the bar, I'll bring a fast wide lens for the bar's interior and I'm thinking of a slower 85mm lens for the exterior shots -the view from the rooftop covers most of downtown Saigon. Any suggestions and advice on lenses?

A historical overview of the hotel:
