Beautiful light. Is that on the Glenorchy-Paradise Road?
Yes that's it! We'd spent the afternoon rock climbing at China Wall at the road end and were driving back to Glenorchy. Beautiful area and the late afternoon light was superb. Sounds like you have been there?

I walked by a long time ago. Remember it very clearly. I walked from Glenorchy to Paradise, up to the Dart River Ford, crossed the river at the swing bridge* and hiked up and met some friends at Lake Sylvan on the other side of the ridge. Several locals told me I was insane, but the worst part of it was the looong single lane bridge across Rees River - I nearly got run over a few times - there isn’t much room for a car and a pedestrian.

*I have heard that this was subsequently damaged and removed.

This is great.

I so miss Neopan 400.

Lou was the guitarist in the Johnny O'Keefe band for quite a few years. Lived locally and we were great friends ... died a few years back when he had a late night asthma attack and the ambulance didn't get there in time sadly.

Yes, I recognized Lou. A shame he’s gone. I’m trying to remember his family name but am not sure if what comes to mind is correct.

Yes, of course, from The Beaumen. He used to play at The Gap Tavern occasionally in the 1990s.

I kept thinking Casch, because that was the name of O’Keefe’s long-term guitarist early on, but he is Ambonese, from Indonesia, and that is not him.

He was delightfully eccentric.
