Thank you, Pan, I was there a very long time ago. There are also defense works at that location because the English expected the Germans during the Second World War. I also took some pictures on that spot. It is also the place where the ferries go to and come from The Netherlands.

I was aware of the book cover you refer to when I found this scene - I am assuming it was the same location…slightly different as Winogrand had a family with their car in the image as I recall…

And it was taken from the other direction; Winogrand’s photo is looking at the side of the shelters that protects from the wind, not the side looking in to the bench and seats. It’s a beautiful place and this is also a great photo.
